Subject: | TMJ-MapOrganiser Update - 23 October 2008
Stephen 19:05 Location: Phone Model: | After almost a year since the previous update to the MapOrganiser, the new version includes a number of improvements: - Support for extra OpenStreetMap-based map styles, including Andy Allan's Cycle Map with topographical contours and CloudMade's Mobile-optimized renderings: - Local map tile caching to reduce load on OpenStreetMap servers and speed up map assembly. - Improved image resampling quality when using the 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 etc zoom levels. - 256 colour palette option when saving PNG files to reduce the TMJ file size and speed up map loading/display in TMJ-Mobile. See the MapOrganiser page for more info... Cheers, Stephen
shchenka 8:27 | Cool. I'm so lazy I wish the MapOrganizer would be able to remember some setting e.g. so that one does not have to amend the tile size each time the program is started
Stephen 11:02 Location: Phone Model: | There is a command line option that can preset the tile size. Edit the 'Start Map Organiser' batch script with -l (small letter L, not number one) following by the tile width and height, eg: java -jar TMJ-MapOrganiser.jar -l240,320 Cheers Stephen
shchenka 11:50 | Great, thanks. Any more useful command line options ? :)
Stephen 12:28 Location: Phone Model: | Yes, actually pretty much the whole OSM conversion process can be automated. Use the -h switch for full details: java -jar TMJ-MapOrganiser.jar -h (Its still pretty experimental though, hence why I hadn't mentioned it before!!)
